Bio:

Debashis Sahoo earned his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur (2000) and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford (2003, 2008). He is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Pediatrics at UC San Diego. His research focuses on biological systems analysis and hardware design verification. Dr. Sahoo pioneered identifying Boolean relationships in gene expression, impacting studies on B cell differentiation and various cancers. Notably, he identified CDX2 as a biomarker predicting chemotherapy response in colon cancer. He has received prestigious awards, including the NIH K99/R00 and DOD Training Award.
